As SVP of Sony Corporation Global Holdings, he was responsible for strategic planning for an R&D budget of approximately 500 billion yen and invested in venture companies. As VP of Sony China, he was the director of the China Research Institute and invested in Chinese startups. He was a senior venture capitalist at Sony Ventures Inc., and later went independent.
